Centrally located on the scenic HUMMINGBIRD HIGHWAY, the Hummingbird Inn is the perfect place to launch your adventures in Belize!

We are only minutes from the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. Beautiful Placencia is a pleasant 22 mile drive down the Southern Highway, followed by a nice 25 mile coastal drive down the Placencia Peninsula.

Hike in the surrounding sub-tropical jungles and see some of the more than 500 species of birds found in Belize. Look for some of the other flora and fauna that can only be seen in the local pristine jungle ecosystem.

World-famous Mayan Ruins and other historical sites are nearby so you can explore them on your own or with our professionally trained Mayan guides.

Kayak or canoe on the many nearby rivers, including the Stann Creek River which flows through the rear of the Hummingbird Inn’s acreage. Kayaking from The Hummingbird Inn to the Caribbean Sea on the Stann Creek River is a very popular day trip.

The inland Blue Hole Cenote and the Belize Zoo are very popular attractions for our guests. Jungle horseback riding and cave-tubing on some nearby rivers are also favorites.

Our guests also enjoy experiencing the local Garifuna history and culture, including the unique Garifuna music.

The Cockscomb Basin Nature Reverse, the world’s first jaguar preserve, is only ten minutes away on the Southern Highway, near the Maya Cultural Center.

The capital city of Belize–Belmopan– is miles away on the MOST SCENIC DRIVE in all of the Belize via the Hummingbird Highway.
